Latest Update: June 19, 2006

For two weeks in March-April 2006 we took a tour of Italy, Greece and Turkey with our son's school, Denver School of the Arts. The purpose of the educational tour was to expose the students to the origins of ancient theater. We saw many such sites in all three countries, and many more!

Our tour was a whirlwind, with many "bus pictures" and hardly time to stop, compose a shot with proper settings, and stand still! Many of the pictures reflect "the rush" of the tour, but it was a trip of a lifetime nonetheless. My goal was to "capture" more than "compose", so please excuse the sometimes blurry bus-window photography.

Our itinerary included Rome, Pompeii, Tolo (Greece), Mycenae and Athens. From Athens we took a cruise on the Aegean for five days. Our ports of call included the incredible islands of Mykonos, Patmos, Rhodes, Crete and Santorini (my favorite). A suprise stop was Kusadasi Turkey, and the ancient city of Ephesus.

I have put the collection of the photos online for the benefit of family and friends. Please feel free to download and print any of them. However, the pictures are not available for re-sale or unauthorized distribution. and I will probably give you permission to use the pictures if you need them for other means.

I will be continuously adding further pictures, creating some panoramas and adding a new "highlights" album that encompasses the best shots in a nutshell. Check back frequently for updates!

Note on the photo gallery: There are actually three sizes on all of the pictures: thumbnail, medium and original. When you click on the thumbnail you get the "medium" size. If you wish to print, I suggest you click on the "Full Size" option in the upper right-hand corner and use the resulting picture (original size from my camera).

Slideshow Icon Example: note that there is a slide show option located on the left side of the gallery's pages.
